Amber + Nick / Silver Lake Dunes Engagement Photographer

Amber is one of those brides that is very thoughtful about our process and our side of things, and really appreciates all the hard work and sacrifice that goes into our work. She’s one of those clients that really get what you do and why you do it. For that reason and the very pleasant email exchanges we had, not to mention the Zoom call, I wanted to do a really special job for her and Nick. With both of them being dirt bike racers, I immediately thought of Silver Lake. I have always wanted to shoot there and I knew it could be really special. I also wanted to bring Holly along to give it that extra punch of creativity which she 100% provided!

We got some really fun stuff at the dunes and then we rushed to the closest beach for some sunset and fun water shots. We got there just in time to catch a quick bright sunset and then we got right in the water! This was supposed to just be some bonus shots but they turned out to be some of my favorite images! It was also a fun memory taking the pictures especially because that was me getting soaked, holding the light for Holly behind them. Totally worth it.

I am truly excited for their wedding day not only because they are great as a couple, but they have an amazing venue in Leona Rd! That will be my 4th wedding there and it’s quickly becoming my favorite! Keep an eye out in May!

As a bonus I decided to let chatGPT write an alternate blog for me… Partly because they write in an entertaining, slightly cheesy way that makes me chuckle but also to test you guys and see if anyone even reads these things 😂 Also it’s good for the Google juice. Enjoy!

Sometimes weather just doesn’t want to play nice so thats fine, we roll with it! We planned to do their engagement photos the night before the wedding so rescheduling wasn’t an option and if there’s gonna be rain, having it only in the second half of a session is just about as perfect timing as you could get because rain pictures can be incredible!

Ron + Whitney // Muskegon Engagement Photographer

These two just bring the fun. We are extremely lucky to seem to attract awesome, laid back people. I laughed so much during this session which helped the blinding pain of sciatica that decided to flair up when we got there. With so many things in life, laughing it off is really the best way to deal with anything! I love that there are these really lovely normal photos and then as you go along, things get a little strange and then we found a puddle so Ryan and I freaked out and just HAD to have them go splashy in it with the jeep.

I am so excited for their wedding!

From the first shot of this engagement session I knew it was going to be amazing. Ludington is such an incredible place and not too far from where we live which is also nice. It’s so peaceful and beautiful there! These two were just so great in front of the camera, so comfortable with each other and that dresssssss oh I love it!

The amount of clients we have for 2019 that are hilarious is overwhelming. We are settling in nicely with a super funny crowd and I love it. It’s great having people just do the things you ask without feeling weird because weird feels right at home. Even though most things look pretty normal, the process of creating them can feel weird so it all just works so well when everyone is on the same page.

Lindsay and Patrick are just such nice people and memorable humans. 10 years into marriage and I can say that laughing with Ryan is the absolute favorite thing. Having someone to laugh with for the rest of my life is the most comforting thing in my world. I know that Lindsay will also enjoy that life at Patrick is a gem. haha I started following him on Instagram and a small series on a rainy yard sale made me laugh for a longer than it should have hahah

So excited for their wedding!
